Are you a middle or high school student with something to say? Want to explore the world through interviews, storytelling, and media creation? Join the Youth Journalism Program—a hands-on experience where young changemakers become powerful voices for their community.
Through this exciting program, participants will:
Learn journalism fundamentals: interviewing, writing, podcasting & reporting
Explore current events and community issues from a youth perspective
Gain real-world media production experience (print, digital, audio & video)
Collaborate with peers on meaningful stories that reflect youth truth
Feature their work on our upcoming Changemakers Podcast and digital platforms
Build confidence, communication skills, and civic awareness
No prior experience needed! All you need is curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn.
Open to youth ages 12–18 | Spots are limited!

OPEN ADULT POSITIONS

Support youth as they learn to write articles, conduct interviews, and report on real issues in their community.
Ideal for: Journalists, writers, educators, media students
Skills: Strong writing background, experience mentoring or teaching youth
Commitment: 1–2 sessions/week, plus light editing or coaching between meetings -
Help youth record, edit, and produce episodes of our youth-led podcast. Teach basic audio editing, scriptwriting, and storytelling techniques.
Ideal for: Audio engineers, podcasters, multimedia creators
Skills: Familiarity with tools like Audacity, GarageBand, or Anchor
Commitment: Weekly support, with flexible scheduling -
Assist with managing social media, creating visual content, and publishing youth-created stories across platforms.
Ideal for: Creative professionals, photographers, social media managers
Skills: Canva, Instagram, basic video/photo editing
